Manomin (2017, 7:47) is a short documentary of a trip in the fall of 2017 where a group of youth investigated the so called ‘Rice Wars’ near Ardoch, Ontario that took place in the early 1980’s. The youth from the Katarokwi School traveled by canoe to visit the site of the dispute between local Indigenous groups that had been cultivating the rice for generations, and a business that was trying to harvest the rice for profit with the support of the government.
