Josh Lyon is a multi-disciplinary artist, animator, musician, and filmmaker based in Katarokwi / Kingston, Ontario.

He has produced, directed and animated music videos for a number of Canadian bands including Sarah Harmer, Kennedy Road, Michael C. Duguay, Colleen Brown & Major Love, Rock Plaza Central, The Gertrudes, Miss Emily, Entire Cities, and Dala. His film work (narrative, documentary, music videos and experimental) has been screened at festivals and conferences worldwide. Recent collaborative projects have included underwater cinematography for Don Maynard’s SKEYE Project as well as the in-process underwater dance performance installation AQUA NOVA (with Don Maynard, Kay Kenney and Sadaf Amini).

As a musician, Lyon has performed at music festivals and toured across Canada with a number of bands, and has created and performed live visual installations for Electric Circuits festival of Electronic Music, Performance and Digital Art. Since 2016 he has been a founding member of Calliope Collective, a not-for-profit arts collective in Kingston, Ontario, dedicated to producing experiential and immersive performance based multi-arts events that transform familiar spaces through puppetry, projections, music and dance. As an educator, he has led workshops at a number of festivals and venues, and also teaches film-making and motion graphics at St Lawrence College in Kingston.
